Ralph E. Gonsalves received his early formal education at the Colonarie Roman Catholic Primary School and the St. Vincent Boys' Grammar School. He obtained a B.Sc. (Econ) and an M.Sc. (Govt) from the University of the West Indies (UWI), Jamaica. The University of Manchester (England) awarded him the Ph.D in Government. He was called to the Degree of Utter Barrister at Gray's Inn (London). Dr. Gonsalves has taught at UWI (Jamaica and Barbados) in the Department of Government and was a Visiting Professor at Queen's College, City University of New York. He has also practised Law in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and several other juridictions in the Caribbean. He has been Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines since 2001.
